Darius Braxton, a signed artist to the MMS (Marcus McCauley Sessions, LLC) labeand the Spotlight Awards Male Vocalist of the Year winner, is a gospel singer, minister, musician and song writer. He was born in San Jose, CA on February 23, 1992 to Pastor Karon Braxton and Lady Sonja Braxton. His strong Christian foundation was planted at a young age. He was raised in a strict but safe Christian home environment. As an adult he now understands why he was only able to listen to Christian and Gospel music at home. His parents always encouraged him, and his brother Eric Braxton, to have a relationship with Christ first and take education seriously.

After graduating high school, Darius attended California State University East Bay (Hayward, Ca) and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (Pre-Law) in 2014. He also started his double major in music by taking piano classes to learn how to read music. He continued his education at Lincoln Law School in San Jose, CA in 2015.

Darius is a skilled musician and has been blessed with the ability to play the drums, piano, and keyboard from a young age. In addition, Darius is an anointed singer, gifted with the ability to teach and conduct choirs of various sizes and organizations since the age of 11.

In his college years, Darius joined the California State University East Bay Gospel Choir in 2010. Two years later he transitioned to the position of Music Director and Instructor. From 2014- 2017, Darius served a leadership role in the gospel group Rising Generation for Christ (RGC) which was based in San Jose, Ca. In 2016, he also became the music director for the California State Baptist Youth & Young Adult Convention; teaching and leading songs for Praise and Worship, and the combined choir which included members as young four years old and spanned to members in their late thirties.

Darius’ gift and passion for God through music has opened doors for him to minister at large conferences, and operate as the clinician for three music workshops. His ministry is not limited to just California, but has reached Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Alabama. He also has sung at the 2017 Stellar Awards showcase. Although Darius has served in many capacities, he continues to stay faithful, humble, and available to serve his home church, Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, in East Palo Alto, Ca. He serves as the Minister of Music, and Youth and Young Adult Director. In 2019 he accepted his calling as a Minister under the leadership of his father, Pastor Karon L. Braxton.

Darius has had the privilege of sharing the stage to sing with several national recording gospel artists such as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Dr. Myron Williams, Earnest Pugh, Chrystal Rucker, Todd Galbraith, Lena Byrd and many more.

At the end of 2007 Darius’ vocal cords collapsed and as a result stopped him from breathing and his body no longer functioned. Doctors pronounced him dead as they tried all they could. During this critical time his family began to fast and pray. According to Jeremiah 29:11, this was not Darius’ expected end. God had greater plans and performed a miracle of healing power on that very day. Today Darius can testify and say "God is still Jehovah Rapha”.  Every scar you have is a symbolization of every battle you’ve conquered, because according to his favorite scripture Philippians 4:13, you can do all things through Christ. Now he has two recorded singles entitled "Sustained" and " Hark the Herald" and he has more to come because the best is yet to come.
